Valentine’s Day Date Ideas 2021

I have to admit that I’m not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day. A simple dinner and chocolate are enough to make me happy but I know that a lot of you love to celebrate the occasion. Since going out is still a little tricky I’ve decided to put together a list of Valentine’s Day date ideas for 2021. And I’ve included ideas for spending time at home or going out in a socially distanced fashion of course!

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas 2021

At Home

Fondue Dinner for Two

I posted about this fondue pot in my previous post Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Him and Her. There are so many delicious looking recipes for fondu all over Pinterest why not whip up something with your Valentine? Personally, I’d go with something sweet but if you’re more of a savory person this cheesy smoked gouda fondue recipe looks delish!

Virtual Paint and Wine class

I love a good paint and wine night but if you’re not into going out in public right now you can recreate this event at home. Pick up your favorite wine and some art supplies at your local craft store. There are several websites that offer virtual wine and painting events. Check out a few of them below!

Karaoke Night

Do you and your significant other love to sing? Then have a karaoke date night! There’s no need for a fancy karaoke machine as you can use this karaoke mic and free YouTube videos. The best part of this date is that if you’re not normally a karaoke person there’s no audience (well except for your S/O) so you can really belt it out. Who knows maybe you’ll uncover a hidden talent for singing!

Game Night

Game nights are one of my favorite ways to get people together for a night of fun. This Valentine’s Day pick out a few games that are suitable for two! Exploding Kittens, Unstable Unicorns and are some fun 2-player games that make for a playful game night. Want something spicy? How about the Intimacy deck or Sex talk?

Camp Out in the Backyard

While it might be a little bit too cold in New Jersey to camp outside this is a fun option for those of you living in a warmer climate. If you’re lucky enough to have your own backyard then try out camping outside! You could set up a tent get your sleeping bags and even set up a fire for roasting marshmallows! Spend the night chatting, reading, and singing (#2 on this list) under the stars. Maybe even bring out a few beers or make a homemade hot toddy recipe if it’s still a little chilly outside.

Learn Something New

Learning a new skill with your partner is a great way to add a little excitement into your lives and break up the normalcy of everyday life. And I’m not talking about a new skill like how to write a 10-page essay. I’m talking about something hands-on that you can do together. Think how to bake macaroons, photography, or even knitting. There are so many YouTube tutorials on learning a specific skill that you’re bound to find something you’re both interested in. Skillshare is another great option for finding a class that can teach you a hands-on skill.

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas Socially Distanced

Go for a Hike

If you’re tired of staying inside but you still want to be sure that you’re not comfortable being in public with a lot of people just yet then hiking is a great alternative for Valentine’s Day date. You can get a little fresh air and stay active while spending quality time with your significant other.

Visit a Brewery or Local Winery

Although I haven’t been out much over the past few months I have noticed that places like breweries or wineries have been doing a pretty good job of keeping customers socially distanced. And I find that these places are usually even slower in the winter months. Which I actually think makes for a more romantic and intimate date. If where you go doesn’t offer any food bring along some snacks like cheese, crackers, and dried meats to go along with your drinks.

Go to a Spa

What’s more romantic than a day of self-indulgence at a day spa? Find a local spa and get couples massages, spend time in the sauna, salt room, or hot springs. Maybe even convince your man to get a mani-pedi with you while sipping on some refreshing cucumber water. Now, this is a date idea I can get on board with. I know we could all use a little relaxation!

Plan a Weekend Getaway

Tired of staying in the same old city? Try planning a weekend getaway! Pick a spot that you can easily drive to and book a lux hotel with all the amenities. Spend time partaking in-room service or explore the local surroundings. It may be a short trip but it gives you both something new to experience and can leave you feeling inspired and refreshed with its time to get back to work on Monday!

Ice Skating

Ice skating is such a cute winter date idea IMO. Especially if one of you is bad at skating…it gives you the perfect excuse to reach out for a hand. Try to find an outdoor ice skating rink and bundle up for a night of skating. Afterward, head out to a local diner or coffee shop for some hot cocoa and a hot meal!

I hope these Valentine’s day date ideas for 2021 have given you some inspiration as to how to make the upcoming holiday festivities. Are you planning on celebrating Valentine’s Day? If so are you planning on going out or staying in?
