How to Wear White Pants in the Fall

wearwhitepantsinthefall

Would you wear white pants after Labor Day? According to outdated (in my opinion) fashion rules, white after labor day is a big no, no. I feel like most more and more of us are breaking this rule but I still hear people talk about it from time to time. “Wearing my fav white jeans before summer’s over” “Gotta rock this all-white look before Labor Day”. You guys! Why should we stop wearing a particular color just because of the season changes? I know that we all want to change our outfits to cozy autumnal colors but you can still get so much use out of those white jeans by pairing it with the right tops and accessories. That’s why I put together three different ways to wear white in the fall!

Beige/Brown Booties and Cropped Sweater

If neutrals are your thing then pairing your white pants with beige or camel colored pieces is the perfect way to transition them to the fall months. I actually prefer to wear my whites with brown shoes rather than black as I feel the contrast is softer and more feminine. I am wearing a cropped sweater I purchased from Goodnight Macaroon last season and a pair of really old Vince Camuto booties. This look would even be great with a camel-colored trench jacket or coat. I haven’t found the perfect camel trench yet but it’s definitely on my wish list! I’ve also thrown on this chic affordable brown croc bag by JWPEI.

You really can’t go wrong with denim and white. It’s a classic combo and it still looks amazing for fall! I love a chambray top and have at least 3 in my rotation. To make this look more suitable for the cold you could add a scarf and a fall jacket.

Blazer and Heels

Want to dress up your white jeans for fall? Try adding a blazer over top for a more professional look with a pair of high heels. I purchased this boyfriend blazer at Dynamite in Feb before the lockdown so I never actually got to wear it! I love the fit of a boyfriend blazer because it’s more relaxed but still looks very put together. The only problem with boyfriend blazers it’s difficult to find one that’s not too oversized if you’re a petite woman. I’ll be on the lookout for petite friendly blazers and be sure to create a post when I find a few that work!

I love your style! All these outfits are so cute – especially the check blazer over the white jeans. Such a power outfit. I haven’t heard the rule about white jeans (probably because I’m from the UK) but I’m glad people are ignoring it. White jeans are always fab! xx

Such cute outfits!! I really love the last one with the blazer. I definitely wear white after Labor Day, and I actually wore my white jeans twice last week! But, my white jeans have little metal buttons on the hem, which I feel like hinders their ability to paired with booties… so I might have to retire them for the season for that reason, but we’ll see.
