How to Take the Perfect Picture

Here are four steps all about how to take the perfect picture just in time for the holidays.

Nowadays, people take photographs at almost any opportunity. What you’re eating. Who you’re spending time with. What you’re doing. Pets, friends, nieces and nephews, children, parents, the list goes on.

On top of that, often, our photos aren’t solely for our own use. Instead, we tend to share them with others. Whether that’s by message or through on Insta. So, personal picture taking has become an art form. Even if you’re not a blogger or influencer almost every one wants to know how to take better photos!

How to Take the Perfect Picture

You’re gonna want to take the best quality photo possible to show what you’re doing in its best light. But how can you go about getting the best picture? Well, I’ve gotcha covered with some tips and tricks that can help you along the way!

Upgrade Your Phone

You don’t need a high quality DSLR camera to capture good shots. Sure, these may still be preferred by professionals. But for day to day use, modern day smartphone cameras can prove more than enough.

If you have an older model, why not consider upgrading your phone? I recently upgraded to the iPhone 12 and it has been a game changer! Even though I use my DSLR most of the time for photos I’ve found that you can take incredible pictures using portrait mode! See photo above for proof!

Picture quality improves with each new release, so you are bound to see a difference when you upgrade. Look out for the best deals before signing up for a contract. This will help you to get the best price possible, rather than overpaying.

Considering a Camera

If you do want the best quality images possible, you should consider a camera. There are countless options on the market to suit a range of different budgets and skill sets. Take some time to research your different options and determine which is best for you and your needs.

Think About Your Lighting

Lighting can make a world of difference to any photo. Good lighting can make or break a picture. So, make sure to check your lighting before snapping. Often, outdoors spaces or spaces flooded in natural light are ideal. And make sure that the sun is not behind your subject. This will cause your subject to appear darker or as a silhouette.

If you can’t achieve this, there are all sorts of artificial lighting available that can make up for a lack of natural light. Nowadays, many people like to use a ring light paired with the best selfie apps for iphone to capture the perfect selfie. I often use my ring light to get the brightness I’m looking for when I’m at home.

Of course, taking a good quality picture is important in the first place. But half the time, editing is what makes all the difference to the final image. There are various different types and levels of editing, and the one that will best suit you will depend on your skills and experience.

Of course, you can go all out and take courses in photoshop to achieve high level editing. However, if you have less time on your hands, or simply don’t want to invest that much, you can always use a host of apps that contain various filters and editing features to alter your image in more simple and way.

These are just a few tips and tricks that should help you to get the ideal image you’re looking for. Whatever your reason for wanting a good quality picture, following this guide, step by step, should help to improve the final results!
