Holiday Markets Around the World You Need to Visit

It’s Blogmas day 7 and this time it is all about spending the day at a holiday market! Visiting holiday markets is one of my favorite things to do during the holiday season. I just love shopping all of the local vendors for unique gifts and listening to live Christmas music. This past weekend I spent the day at the Asbury Park Holiday Bazaar and found some really neat gifts for my family and friends.

Holiday Markets You Need to Visit

.

Asbury Park Holiday Bazaar

Every year you can find me at the Asbury Park Holiday Bazaar shopping local artists, vendors, and catching a live performance or two! The Holiday Bazaar takes place at the Convention Hall and is every weekend until December 22nd from 11 AM to 6 PM! Catch the highlights on my Instagram Stories to see it in action!

Christkindlmarkt in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

The Christkindlmarkt in Pennslyvania is one that is not to be missed! There are over 150 artisans to shop as well as live music every weekend. You can also watch ice carving and glassblowing demonstrations from the Hot Glass Experience Glass Ornament sessions. In the Christkindlemarkt outdoor village, you can find newly added fire pits, artisan huts, and igloos. This market may be worth the trip from NJ in the near future!

Union Square Holiday Market – New York City

Ah, there’s nothing quite like Christmas in the big apple! At the Union Square Holiday Market, you can experience more than 150 vendors showcasing crafts and unique items. There’s also a chance to catch a musical performance and enjoy some of your favorite foods.

Christkindlmarkt of Chicago

Perhaps the most well-known Christkinlemarket in the United States, this is a traditional German market with three locations around Chicago. Almost every day of the market there is a different event taking place. You can see everything from a Hawaiian dance performance to a capella singing groups and a brass band. You can also find traditional crafts and treats from Germany, Austria, and local artisans.

International Holiday Markets

The next few markets are on my bucket list for sure! I’ve always wanted to experience at least part of the holiday season in another country and if I did the following markets would be the ones that I would want to visit!

Toronto Christmas Market

This Christmas market is a must if you happen to be in Toronto or visiting Canada this holiday season. The massive Christmas tree and seasonal decor are more than enough reasons for me to want to take the trip. Not only that but they also have interactive installations like their “Winter Wonderland” where you can create and take part in an animated photo of a 3D Winter Wonderland scene!

Strasbourg Christmas Market – France

I’ve always wanted to experience the Christmas season in Europe! What better way to do just that than to experience a Holiday market in France? This market has been around since 1570 and consists of 12 markets spread around the city. There is literally so much to see at this market including a Navtiviy tour, elf workshop, tree decorating, and more. Not to mention all of the resturants that you can visit after you get your fill of shopping and exploring!

Brussels Winter Wonders and Christmas Market -Belgium

Get into the holiday spirit in Belgium with miles of shopping, ice skating, sound/light shows and more at this Belgium Christmas market. There are even fairground attractions like the Ferris wheel and merry-go-rounds. If you stick around at night you can view their nightly parades and musical performances to keep the holiday excitement going even longer!

Manchester Christmas Market – England

This traditional European-style market has 10 locations and more than 350 stalls. From what I have gathered the food is not to be missed! These markets are famous for their traditional bratwurst but there are also well-known cuisines that are from other countries such as Hungary and Spain! You have to see the photos of this market as it looks incredible and the decorations are amazing!

Have you been to any holiday markets this season? If so let us know in the comments below or on Instagram. I’d love to shout out your account and favorite holiday market in my IG Stories!
