I’ve been really into trying out new hair products lately as I’ve been figuring out the best products for my hair type. So I was really excited when Somerfield Beauty reached out to me about trying their deep conditioning hair mask.

Somerfield is a natural, organic, and Eco-friendly haircare brand from Australia that originated in 2017. All of the products from Somerfield are sulfate, paraben, and cruelty-free.

What’s interesting about the product is that the conditioner is prefilled into a cap. It’s a similar concept to a sheet mask that you would use for your face. You leave it on for fifteen minutes let the mask do its work and then rinse it out at the end.

Each mask comes pre-filled with nourishing ingredients that include hydrolyzed silk, avocado oil, jojoba oil, and honey extract. Somerfield products promise to leave your hair shiny, and voluminous as well as frizz and tangle-free.

There are two different masks available for purchase on their site. The Natural Hair Mask and the Natural Hair Mask Intense for colored hair. The lovely people at Somerfield Beauty sent me a 3-pack of the Natural Hair Masks to try out!

How do Somerfield Hair Masks Work?

You simply shampoo your hair as normal. Make sure to completely rinse the shampoo out of your hair before placing the cap on your head.

Make sure that you get all of your hair inside the mask and that no strands are peeking out. Use the sticker tab to secure the cap and massage your head to distribute the cream evenly. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. The cap is waterproof so you can either finish showering or you can make yourself a cup of tea and watch your favorite show! If you would like to boost the power of the mask you can heat the cap with a hairdryer before setting your timer for 15 minutes.

The first time that I used the treatment I did the entire process while I was in the shower. This was difficult since I couldn’t see what I was doing and I had trouble getting all of my hair in the cap. I also had a hard time lifting the sticky tab up and securing it since my hands were slippery from the shower. The second time around I decided to put the cap on after I showered so that I could dry my hands and look in the mirror. It was so much easier being able to see what I was doing with the help of a mirror! For that reason, I recommend getting out the shower and using a mirror to put the cap on.

After fifteen minutes I took off the cap and rinsed the cream out of my hair. As I was rinsing my hair I was able to easily untangle my hair with my fingers. My hair also felt incredibly smooth and silky as I could feel all of the oils rinsing from my hair.

Since the weather has been so hot I decided to let my hair dry naturally. Once it was completely dry I could tell that my hair was much shinier than usual. It also left my hair feeling soft and my waves tangle free! I have naturally dry and thick hair so my strands loved all of the moisture that this mask provided. I also loved that it didn’t weigh down my hair or leave it feeling greasy!

Your hair looks great. What hair dryer are you using? How hot do you let it get before setting the timer?

Thank you so much! I am not actually using a hair dryer at the moment. I let my hair dry during the warmer weather.
