Petite Studio is here to help women 5’4 and under discover styles they’ll love!
Did you know the average height of women in the U.S. is 5’4? And that about 30% of women in the United States are under 5’4? That means that most women living in the United States are considered petite! In fact, the average height of women worldwide is around 5’3!
So many women are considered petite, yet we are still overlooked in the fashion industry! Jeans are always too long, waste lines do not fall properly, and you can forget about maxi dresses! Most longer dresses will drag on the floor!
If you can relate, you know there is a need for fashion brands catering to women 5’4 and under. That’s where Petite Studio comes in! Petite Studio is a slow fashion brand that caters to us shorter women with pieces that are perfect for our shorter stature!
Petite Studio reached out to me to see if I would review the pieces for my blog, and I knew I had to say yes! At only 5’0, finding clothing that doesn’t need to be tailored is a struggle! I had to find out if this brand was worth investing in and share it with my petite babes!
As a special treat, Petite Studio has provided me with a discount code for my readers! Use the code DAZZLE25 to get 25% off your order!

What is Petite Studio?
Petite Studio was founded by Jenny Wang-Howell in 2016. Jenny understood that there was (and still is) a massive need for stylish and trendy clothes for women 5’4 and under! Wang-Howell partnered with her husband Matt to start their brand out of a New York City showroom in SOHO.
Since then, Petite Studio has become one of the top sustainable indie brands for petite women. They have been featured in publications such as Who What Wear, Harpers Bazaar, Byrdie, and more!
Petite Studio’s collections are designed at its headquarters in New York City. If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop by, as they also offer an in-store shopping experience!
Is Petite Stuido Fast Fashion?
No. Petite Studio is not a fast fashion brand. They make small-run collections with luxury fabrics that are meant to last. When you invest in a brand like Petite Studio, you know that your pieces will stay intact after one season. They are high-quality and durable items built to stand the test of time and become essential items you turn to repeatedly.
Why Purchase Petite Clothing?
Most garments are just not made for petite women. You could purchase a dress from more popular retailers and get it hemmed. But even when you get pieces taken up, other parts of the garment will not be appropriately placed on someone petite. For example, that dress you had hemmed still has a waistline that is not adequately placed for your body.
Yvonne Camisole – White
How sweet is this camisole top? The Yvonne is a romantic, delicate top with stunning details that you will want to show off repeatedly! It has self-tie straps, a shallow V-neck, a stretchy back smocking for comfort, and a unique asymmetrical hem.
This top drapes beautifully and would pair well with jeans or shorts for the summer.
Pearl Blouse – Ivory + Romi Pants – Camel
The Pearl Blouse is one of Petite Studio’s signature pieces and bestsellers. This blouse is well made, with light puffing at the shoulders, a French cuff, and pearl detail at the neckline. This is a piece that you can dress up for work or dress down with jeans for dinner.
The medium-weight fabric makes it an excellent piece for cool spring days!
I paired the blouse with the Romi Pants for an elevated look. Romi Pants are a great closet staple, especially if you need to dress up for work! I love the fit of the pants, as they are roomy throughout the leg yet do not overwhelm my petite frame.
The pants feature deep pockets, a cuff at the hem, and button detail. I was impressed with the length as they hit right at the ankle. No tailoring is needed! I could see dressing these down with a pair of sneakers and a tee shirt for a model-off-duty look!
Deidre Knit Top + Nola Skirt in Brush Print
A mid-length skirt that actually fits? I’m in love!! As a 5ft woman, finding a skirt this length is nearly impossible. The first thing that I noticed about the Nola Skirt was the fabric. It’s so soft and has incredible movement when you wear it!
It is fully lined, so you don’t have to worry about your undergarments showing. This skirt is so comfortable, and I love the ring detail at the waistline! It also has a side slit with a button detail so you can adjust the amount of skin you’d like to show!
I paired the skirt with their white Deidre Knit Top. This top is a perfect summer staple; you can pair it with almost anything! The stretchy and breathable knit fabric is ideal for hot summer days.
Carly Dress – Red Floral
Petite Studio knows how to make a gorgeous and flattering dress! All the dresses I received are flattering and made with the most incredible flowy fabric. The Carly Dress has this elegant and drapey fabric that moves with your body and looks like it was made just for you! It’s fully lined and has a slit on the side for a bit of leg action!
This dress is a versatile piece that could be worn to an outdoor summer wedding or for a date night! I plan on packing this dress for an upcoming trip to Italy this summer.
Neesha Dress – Watercolor
If you’re looking for a dress that is a little more form-fitting but still comfortable, then the Neesha Dress is for you! The fabric of the Neesha dress is a little more lightweight than the others, but it’s not see-through. So, ensure your undergarments are seamless, and you’re good to go!
The Neesha Dress features beautiful watercolor florals and adjustable straps. It also features an adjustable side grazing slit and a stretchy smocked back for comfort. The details of this dress are so on point! I can see why this is one of their best-selling items!
Kristen Dress – Pink Floral
I had to save the best for last! The Kristen Dress is my absolute favorite! The cinched waist, side slit, and flowy fabric have me in a chokehold. This dress is the perfect romantic, feminine spring and summer dress. I will wear this for date night, brunch with the girls, traveling to Italy, and any other occasion I can imagine!
Again, Petite Studio has nailed the fit of this dress. Like the Neesha Dress, the Kristen features a stretchy smocked backing for comfort and adjustable straps. It is also fully lined and has a zip-up enclosure.
Final Thoughts
This was my first time trying Petite Studio, and I was so pleased with the fit and quality of each piece. I couldn’t believe that everything I received fit me so well. The designers at Petite Studio have an incredible ability to craft flattering styles on petite bodies. It’s refreshing to see a brand that takes creating pieces for shorter women so seriously!
Each piece was carefully crafted. Crafting a wardrobe you’ll love is much easier when you opt for pieces that fit well and are made of quality materials.
