Did you know that your skin absorbs everything that you put on it? That means lotions, creams, and makeup all get absorbed directly into your bloodstream. If your skin care products contain parabens or sulfates it is going right into your body and can have negative effects. Hormonal imbalances and even cancer have been linked to chemicals found in skin care products. The more I learn about the negative effects of these ingredients the more I have been trying to avoid them.
Although many stores now carry more natural products like Yes to Carrots and Burt’s Bees it can still be a struggle to find products that work for your specific skin type. That is why I love to shop at Vitacost.com! They have really low prices and a wide range of natural skincare products.
**No, I am not affiliated with Vitacost in any way. I have just been a customer for many years and they have yet to disappoint in quality and price!
Acure Organics Brightening Face Mask $8.49
Face masks are probably the skin care product that I love the most! There is nothing like cleansing your face from your makeup and relaxing with a nice smelling face mask! This one promises to turn you into a green sea-monster while drawing out impurities and providing moisture!
Avalon Organics Wrinkle Therapy Perfecting Toner $8.45
Finding a good toner has always been a challenge for me. The only toner that I have ever repurchased is the Pixi Glow Tonic from Target. Since I use toner every day and sometimes even twice a day I found Pixi Glow Tonic to be a bit expensive at $15 for only 3.4 oz. I have been using this Avalon Organics toner for about a month now and I can’t say I have found a huge difference in my skin but it gets the job done at a good price. Not only that but I know that it is free of sulfates, silicone and is cruelty-free!
Derma E SunKissAlba Radiant Glow Face Oil $18.00
I always like to have a few different facial oils on hand and when I saw that YouTuber Sunkissed Alba collaborated on an oil with Derma E I had to try it out! The SunKissAlba Radiant Glow Face Oil contains jojoba, argan and seabuckthorn oils. The combination of oils works to eliminate dehydration while minimizing the appearance of wrinkles. There is also a hint of golden shimmer in the oil so when applied it gives you a beautiful glow! This is a rather thick oil so if your skin doesn’t absorb oils I would probably choose a different type of facial oil.
Life-Flo Pure Rosehip Seed Oil $5.79
Rose hip oil has been my go-to nighttime moisturizer for almost 2 years now and this is the brand that I always purchase. It is cold pressed which means that it retains the nutrients from the oil and certified organic. Rosehip oil is great for wrinkles, acne, and hydration. It contains vitamin A also known as Retinol Acid.
Redmond Trading Company Bentonite Clay $9.99
This bentonite clay has also been a repurchase for a few years. I love experimenting with new face masks but I always return to making my own with bentonite clay! There are many ways you can create a face mask out of this but all you really need is a little water. Mix into a paste and you have a face mask that will draw out impurities and cleanse your skin deeply.
What are your favorite items to purchase from Vitacost? I would also love to know if you have any favorite natural skin care brands!
