4th of July Fashion Wish List

Happy Monday lovely dazzlers! I originally wanted to share with my 4th of July OOTD but I actually don’t have a clue what I am going to wear! I know I am so last minute this year! Maybe I’ll just stick to denim shorts and a blue or white top. Check my Instagram for an update on what outfit I’ll be wearing on the 4th!

Since I don’t have an outfit planned for tomorrow, I decided to create a 4th of July wish list. Here are a few items that I am loving for the 4th of July or any patriotic holiday!

4th Of July Wish List

Retro Style Red, White, & Blue American Flag Heart Crossbody Unique-Vintage  $28

How cute is this heart shaped red, white and blue crossbody bag? It is so convenient to wear a crossbody bag when you are walking a lot in the summer. This is a perfect addition to any patriotic outfit.

MADEWELL Setlist Boxy Tee in Murphy Stripe $25

I always say that you can’t go wrong with stripes! The red stripes on the white shirt are a perfect holiday outfit when paired with denim shorts.

Deep Blue Cut Out Denim Short With Chic $20

Denim shorts are a must have for the summer. I love that they are high waisted and have distressed details! I would pair this with the Madewell striped tee!

American Exchange Women’s Denim Strap Watch And Bracelet Set $25

Of course, you need accessories to complete any summertime look. I like that this watch comes as a set and has a stylish yet casual vibe.

Rotita Striped Open Back Sleeveless Flared Dress $21

You can’t beat wearing a comfy summer dress for the 4th of July. Again we have some classic stripes on top and some red on the bottom for a classic American look.

Solid and Striped The Brigitte striped bikini Net-A-Porter $175

OK, so this bikini is a bit pricey for me but I couldn’t resist putting it on my wish list! I love the retro feeling of the high waisted bottoms and stripes. Pair it with some red lipstick and you have completed the 50s look!

Boohoo Abigail Fringed Sarong $14

You need a cover up option when you’re lounging by the pool or at the beach. I love the light blue color of this sarong and the pretty dangly tassels.

ShoeDazzle Bags Eddie Women’s Brown/Red $59.95

This bag is a great option for when you’re hitting up the beach for the day. The red pom poms add a nice splash of color to this natural colored tote.

Berry Jewelry Multi-Row Beaded Stretch Bracelet Last Call $13

Here is another accessory option for your holiday look. This one would look great with the striped dress for an extra pop of color.

Easter Sunday Outfit Idea

Easter Vibes

It’s almost Easter Sunday and I’ve been thinking about what to wear for our family get together. It’s supposed to be 80 degrees on Sunday wich is pretty warm for April! That is why I’m thinking a cute floral dress with flowy sleeves would be the perfect outfit to wear for Easter! Pair it with peep-toe sandals, a simple clutch, and some fun pastel colored sunglasses. If you want to dress it up, even more, throw on a sparkly pendant necklace. Oh and how awesome is that Easter egg iPhone case? Can’t get any more festive than that! Even if you don’t celebrate Easter this is a great spring look to wear for a brunch or maybe a bridal shower.

….Btw that Rabbit in the corner is not just a cute graphic to make the pic more festive it’s a canvas art piece that you can find on Etsy! Details below.

13 Paleo, Gluten or Dairy Free Easter Dessert Recipes

Paleo, Gluten and Dairy Free Easter Recipe Ideas

Easter is almost here and I have been searching Pinterest all week for some interesting and healthier desserts to make. I wanted to keep whatever I am going to be making gluten and dairy free as there are some people in my family who are avoiding them at the moment.

There are so many pretty and delicious looking ideas on Pinterest that I am having a hard time deciding what to make! I was thinking I would go the vegan cheesecake route but then I heard the Pale Lemon Cupcakes calling my name!

Maybe you could help me decide what to make!

Paleo, Gluten or Dairy Free Easter Dessert Recipes

Paleo Lemon Cupcakes from PB Fingers

Lemon is a classic this time of year and these cupcakes look amazing. I love how she topped them with a little slice of lemon for decoration.

Copycat Cadbury Creme Eggs from Hold the Grain

Normally I wouldn’t bother recreating candy that you could buy at the store but sadly Cadbury Creme Eggs are not gluten free. This recipe seems easy so I am considering making it. I mean what is easter without Cadbury Creme Eggs?

I have been seeing unicorn everything lately. Unicorn lattes, toast, makeup brushes, you name it! So why would cheesecake be any different? This is another recipe that’s visually stunning and sure to impress.

No-Bake Cadbury Mini Egg Balls from North South Blond

These mini egg balls are in cookie dough form (eggless) and couldn’t be cuter! Anything that involves cookie dough is alright with me! They are simple to make, so even if I don’t make them for Easter I will be trying these out another time!

Chocolate Caramel Easter Eggs from The Pretty Bee

Chocolate and caramel one of my favorite combinations. Can’t go wrong with this Cadbury Caramel Egg inspired recipe

Carrot Cake Fudge from Purely Twins

Carrot cake fudge?? I would have never though to create a fudge recipe inspired by carrot cake! It seriously sounds so good and looks pretty too!

Superfood Berry Cashew Cream No-Bake Bars by Food Faith Fitness

These no-bake bars are so pretty! I love the layered look and the fact that it sneaks in some spinach. Perfect for spring time!

These cups are so cute and seem very easy to make especially since they are no bake. I love almost anything that includes coconut and the addition of chocolate is even better!

The Eyes Have It – St. Patty’s Day Makeup Look

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I thought I would make a quick post about the eye look that I am wearing today to celebrate the holiday!

I used the Urban Decay Electric Palette and Victorias Secret Silky Eye Shadow in Risk to create this look and kept the rest of my makeup simple so the eyes really stand out. The great thing about green eyeshadow is that it really does look great on a variety of skin tones. It’s all about finding the right shade for you. Not only that but green can actually be very wearable if you just keep the application to the lids.

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed this quick post and that it inspires you to rock the green all year round! What are you up to for St. Patty’s Day? Are you rockin green eyeshadow? Or are you super daring and going for a green lip like this or this instead? Let me know in the comments or on social media!

Festive 4th of July Make-up Looks

4th of july make-up
The 4th of July is only one day away, which means that summer is in full swing. I know, I know people consider Memorial Day as the official start of summer, but I always feel that Independence Day is the true beginning of summer. Up until this point, the kiddies have only been out of school for about a week and temps are usually pretty mild until July here on the East Coast.
Whatever you consider to be the official start of summer there is no denying that it’s a fun time of year where you can enjoy being outside, going to BBQs, the beach and watching the sunset as you head out to see the fireworks. In celebration of this festive time of year, I have cooked up four fun and festive makeup looks you can take with you anywhere you go.

Bold Blue Lips

Bold lip colors are having a moment right now (check this out Maybelline Loaded Bolds: Crazy for Blue) and what better way to try out crazy blue lips than the 4th of July. If you’re feeling shy about rocking this daring lip color you can just shrug it off as you being extra festive. When wearing a daring lip color such as this, I like to keep the rest of my makeup simple. Neutral eyeshadows, blush and a classic winged eyeliner keeps the focus on the lips and makes it more wearable for that BBQ you are going to later in the day. I am wearing NYX Liquid Suede Cream in Stone Fox. It’s almost a cross between gray and blue which makes it unique and so much fun to wear.

Classic Red Lip

Since we are talkin’ bold lips, I have to suggest going with one of my favorite lip colors a deep red. This color is way more wearable than the NYX’s stone fox but it’s still festive and perfect for the 4th. Red lips are a classic and I would encourage everyone to do a little experimenting and find their perfect shade of red. It’s especially great in the summer months when you don’t want to wear a ton of eye makeup that you are just going to sweat off anyway. Throw on a little mascara, a tinted moisturizer, those red lips and your good to go. My red of choice for today is NYX Liquid Suede Cream in Cherry Skies.

4th of july make-up

 Sparkly Red Eyes

For this look, I am wearing a shimmery white shadow on the upper lids and some bronzer in the crease for a little contour with a winged liner. I added some silvery shimmer with Revolt from Urban Decay’s Electric Palette. I used NYX Eyeshadow in Sunrise, a bright red shimmery shadow that I used to line my lower lashes with. You’re probably thinking red eye-shadow? I can’t get away with that! Red eyeshadow can be a very pretty choice when used sparingly and as an accent color, rather than a shadow you cover your whole lid with. I added some black liner on my water line to keep the red from washing me out and to make my eyes pop. I kept the lips nude since I wanted the focus to be on my eyes.

Red, White and Blue

This last look is the same as the above except I added a bright blue liquid liner by Bourjois in Electro Blue, above my winged. This look is so much fun and it’s an unexpected way to wear patriotic colors. Again, I am wearing a nude color on the lips, since they eyes are so colorful. If I wear this look on the 4th, I am going to keep my outfit simple. You don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard or some kind of crazy patriotic cartoon character (unless that’s your jam, then totally go for it). A simple white sundress or ripped shorts with a white flowy top would look amazing.

These four looks are bold, but I think that they are so much fun. Holidays are the perfect excuse for experimenting with bright colors and for trying out daring new looks. What do you think? Would you try out these 4th of July looks?

**I have realized that I have used a few NYX products in this post but I am not sponsored or affiliated with NYX in any way. I’m a big fan of their pigmented products, and I just went a little crazy on the buy on get one half off sale at Ulta.

10 Healthier Summertime Dessert Ideas

Summer is in full swing and the 4th of July is only one day away! If you need a last minute dessert idea but want to keep it light and healthy, check out these 10 summertime dessert ideas.

  1. Mini Berry Cream Pies– These mini berry cream pies look impressive and are so simple to make. You simply pour the pie mixture into mini phyllo cups and serve.
  2. Blueberry Squares – These blueberry squares from Eating Well are so pretty and look sooo good! These will take a little more time than the mini berry pies, as you are making the crust from scratch, but they sure do look worth the extra effort.
  3. Whipped Berry Pudding– I’m noticing a trend here with the berries! This berry pudding only has 5 ingredients and looks super easy to make. Just be sure to make it ahead of time because it needs to set in the fridge for about two hours to set.
  4. Red White and Blue Fruit Skewers with Cheesecake Yogurt Dip– This one is perfect if you are not a big fan of berries. It’s a low-fat cheesecake dip that you can serve with slices of cake, fruit, graham crackers or anything else you can think of! Maybe you can be extra festive and add red or blue food coloring to the dip.
  5. Red, White and Blueberry Cheesecake Cupcakes– More cheesecake!! These are so pretty and so easy to make. Again, if berries are not your thing, you can leave them plain or top with another fruit or chocolate drizzle
  6. 4th Of July Bark– Another recipe that I always make for Christmas is white and dark chocolate bark. For Christmas, I will add in candy canes, but this recipe uses red, white and blue sprinkles and M&M’s.
  7. Firecracker Popcorn– This cute easy recipe is a festive way to dress up popcorn for the holiday! It includes drizzled white chocolate and rock pops. So much fun!
  8. Rocket Pops– Made with Jello and Cool Whip these festive ice pops are a fun way to cool off on the 4th of July.
  9. 4th of July Brownie Bites – When in doubt, just make your favorite brownie recipe (this one is amazing!) and top with whipped cream and berries!
  10. Sugar Cookie Bars– Bonus Recipe!!! If you want to skip the healthier recipes I would encourage you to try these bars. I make these indulgent bars for Christmas and they are always a big hit. Just add red, white and blue sprinkles instead of green and red ones.
