3 Stylish Summer Dresses Under $30

Necklace from my FabFitFun summer box!
As the heat rises the last thing that I want to worry about is picking out a stylish and comfortable outfit. That’s why a breezy summer dress is almost always my go to outfit in the summer. A good summer dress instantly makes you look put together without much effort. Not only that but they are so easy to take with you on your summer vacation!

Casual summer dresses are my go to outfit when the weather starts to heat up! Dress them up with a pair of dangly earrings and some wedge sandals. Or dress it down with your favorite pair of sneakers and some cool shades. Either way, you can’t go wrong with having a few comfortable summer dresses in your wardrobe!

Old Navy Fit N Flare Cami Dress on sale 16.97

Fit n flare dresses are one of my favorite styles of dress to wear because of their flattering shape. The cinched waist and flare at the hips give the illusion of an hourglass shape regardless of your body type. Not only that but I find the flared skirt so feminine and comfortable to wear since it doesn’t cling to your skin.

Here I am wearing a fit n flare dress from Old Navy in Neutral Camel. The neutral color and simple pattern make this dress easy to pair up with fun accessories or even a jacket when the weather starts to cool off.

If you’re interested in this dress you can buy it here but you better act fast as many of the other colors are selling out quickly. At under $20 who wouldn’t want to pick up this cute summer dress?

Women’s Strappy Fit & Flare Dress – Xhilaration $24.99

We have another fit n flare dress from Target. I have to say that Target has been killin it this season with the summer dresses, skirts, and rompers! I had to restrain myself from purchasing their entire collection because they had some really great pieces! I actually might have to do an entire Target fashion haul because I managed to pick up a few rompers and some other pieces on this shopping trip!

What drew my attention to this dress was the lovely color and the floral print! This is another dress that is going to make a great transition piece into fall. The colors are just muted enough for the change in season. Just add a pair of boots, a jacket, and scarf and you have a fabulous go-to fall outfit!

Flying Tomato Asymmetrical Dress 24.99 at Marshalls

I found this asymmetrical handkerchief dress while I was digging through the racks at Marshalls. If you follow my Instagram then you know that I am obsessed with shopping at discount stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Nordstrom Rack!

I saw this dress on the rack and immediately knew that I had to have it! The bright print on the dark fabric really pulls you in. The fabric on this summer dress feels durable but still light enough to wear on a hot summer day, which is good because there is quite a bit of fabric on this dress. I adore the cut, the length and how comfortable it is.

I was worried about it being too long and overwhelming my frame (I am only 5ft tall!) but I thought it was a good fit. I felt super glamorous wearing this flowy dress on a recent trip to Rome!

Unfortunately, I could not find this exact dress online but I did find a few similar dresses here and here (not under $30).

That’s the thing with shopping at discount stores you can never depend on finding the item you purchased online. Which might also be why I love shopping at these stores so much. You never know what you’re going to find!

What are your favorite dresses to wear for the summer? Not a dress person? What’s your favorite outfit to wear in the hot summer months?

Corset Trend Spring Summer 2017

I fist read about the corset trend making a comeback in the Wall Street Journal back in March. The article started off with an interesting observation about how the corset was originally created to exaggerate the female form. This was a symbolic of the second class status of women back in the 16th century. While there is still some controversy surrounding the corset (think waist trainers used by the Kardashians) the popular spring trend is not so much focused on creating a tiny waist as it is on just adding a little something extra to your outfit.

When I think of a corset I usually think about the 16th century corseted dresses that made a woman’s waist appear insanely small and squeezing her tightly all the way up to her bosoms. Not exactly something I would want to wear on a daily basis…or at all!

Instead of the traditional style that covers the entire torso, fashion bloggers and celebs are wearing a thinner corset that is placed around the middle of the waist. This gives the look a more relaxed feel while still defining the waist.

At first, I didn’t like the idea of the corset being worn in this way. It can look sloppy and unflattering if not you’re not careful as to what top you pair it with. After further researching the trend I found some bloggers wearing it in a way that really accented their bodies and outfit in a flattering way.

Here are a few belts that I found Polyvolor that I thought could look stylish paired with the right top.

Corset Trend Spring/Summer 2017
1. SheIn(sheinside) V Neckline Tartan Belt Detail Top $18 2. Black Velvet Chain Belt $50 3. Icône Corset waist tee $29 4. Rare Khaki Eyelet Lace Up Belt $15 5. Yellow Short Sleeve Belt Layered Dress $30

Do you think I should go for it and purchase one of these belts? Honestly, I am still on the fence with this one. What do you think? Have you tried the trend yet?

5 Off the Shoulder Tops for Under $30

If you have been reading the blog then you know that I love a good off the shoulder top for spring and summer. On a recent post, I talked about how these tops have made a comeback in a huge way and how I like to style them. I was browsing Polyvore and I couldn’t help but check out a few more off the shoulder tops! I think a few of these will be making their way into my closet very soon! The best part is all of these tops are under $30

5 Off the Shoulder Tops Under $30

1. Off-the-shoulder Satin Blouse $29.99 at H&M – I have been crushing on blush pink all spring so I had to add this top to the list! I just love how it is a looser fit and it gives you a flowy feminine vibe.

2. White Black Off the Shoulder Floral Blouse $15 at Make Me Chic – I love this blouse for the cinched waist and the pretty black flowers. The detail at the waist almost makes it look like a peplum top which I usually find very flattering. The structuredness of this top paired along with the black flowers gives it a sophisticated feel. You can dress it up for special occasions or wear with jeans for a more casual affair.

3. Yellow Frilled Pleated Off The Shoulder Top $16 from The Romwe – Have any of you purchased clothes from The Romwe? They have so many cute inexpensive clothes and I am wondering what the quality is like! In any case, I am loving this yell frilly off the shoulder top. The bright color is right up my alley and is perfect for summertime!

4. Tropical Print Off Shoulder Butterfly Sleeve Top Green $23 at Zaful – This top makes me wish I was on a tropical island sitting back eating pineapple with my toes in the sand. This top is so bright and fun it needs to make its way to my closet asap!

5. Yellow Pom Pom Trim Ruffle Off The Shoulder Top $12 at Romwe – How fun is this mustard yellow top? It kinda has a Spanish vibe going on and I could totally see wearing it with a white flowy skirt.

Which tops are your favorite? Have you gotten into the trend yet? Let me know on Instagram or in the comments below!

5 Blush Pink Sneakers for Spring

Spring is in full swing and if you haven’t noticed the blush pink trend has taken over your favorite department stores and boutiques. I seriously can’t walk into a store without seeing pretty ruffly tops and flowy skirts in this pretty soft pink.

Although I love the color pink I am not usually one who regularly wears a lot of pinks. However, I have been drawn to the blush pink trend this season. It’s such a pretty sophisticated way to incorporate pink into your wardrobe.

The softness and subtly of this color makes it so versatile that you can wear it with almost anything. It acts a sort of a neutral that you can pair with many items that you already have in your closet.

If you’re thinking that pink is way too girly for you and not really your thing I would encourage you to check out blush pink sneakers! They are sporty while being feminine at the same time and they will go with everything in your closet. I have yet to pick up a pair of kicks myself but I have been debating between the 5 sneakers below.

1. Kenneth Cole New York Aaron in Rose $140 at Zappos

These are a bit on the pricey side but I love how different they are. The knotted detail on the top is different from anything I have seen and I like the fact that they have a platform.

2. Rizzo Pastel Sneakers at Dolls Kill $50

These sneakers are little darker pink than my other picks but the pearlescent sheen makes them look so cool. I could definitely see myself rocking these all summer long!

3. Women’s Reese Slip on Sneakers by Mossimo Supply Co. at Target $24

If you’re hesitant to try out pink sneakers then these might be the ones you would want to try. You can’t beat the price and the sporty style makes them easy to wear.

4. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Snake Woven Textile Hi in White/Pink at Zappos $48.75

You can’t go wrong with these classic sneakers with a twist! The snakeskin print gives them a really cool texture and the softness of the pink makes them really wearable.

5. Monki Lace Up Flatform Sneaker in Pink at Asos $46

These flatform sneakers are the lightest shade of pink out of all my picks. Perfect if you are hesitant to try out this trend. They don’t have any detailing on them (like snakeskin print or quilted texture) so they are really easy to wear. I might actually like these the best because I can see myself wearing them all the time.

Will you be trying out this trend? I’m still deciding which ones I like the best although I am leaning toward the Monki Lace Up Flatforms. I could see myself wearing them all of the time. Maybe you could help me out and let me know which of the 5 sneakers you like the best. Comment below!

Trend Alert – Off the Shoulder Tops

Off the shoulder tops and dresses have made a big comeback this spring and I couldn’t be more excited about it. There is something just so subtly sexy about showing a little shoulder. I really love this style and I hope that it isn’t going anywhere.

You can find off the shoulder tops and dresses in all different patterns styles and lengths.

Here are 3 Off the Shoulder Tops I’m Loving

Look #1

For an effortless relaxed look go for a top that has a loose fit and is made with a lighter material. These styles look great with skinny jeans, fitted shorts or a cute slim fitting skirt. Check out this style I’m wearing below from Shein.com.

This top is light and flowy which makes it so comfortable. It is the perfect top to wear in the spring and the summer because it is so light.

Don’t you just love the detail of the crocheted sleeves?

The jeans I’m wearing are from William Rast and are so comfortable! I don’t normally purchase designer jeans but they were on sale over the holiday season and I decided to try them out. Such a great purchase!

Oh and check out these cute peep toe shoes! I got them on sale for 25%off at DSW and I had a grand opening coupon for $15 off! Now that’s a steal!

Look #2

If you want to dress it up a little bit, try an off the shoulder top with lots of big ruffles. This super girly look will definitely grab some attention and has the perfect balance of sexy and sweet.

This floral ruffle top is also from Shein.com. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of me with it on so I decided to do this flat lay for you! I would pair this top with the same shoes, my William Rast jeans and this cute clutch from World Market. Yes, I said World Market! You can find some really cute and different accessories at a good price.

Oh and this choker that I’m wearing in from the first couple of pictures is also from World Market!

Look #3

The following look is two trend for one deal! It’s an off the shoulder velvet pink top from Marshalls! What do you guys think of the velvet trend? I have been seeing it everywhere this season and it is giving me serious 90s vibes!

I am pairing the top with the same choker that I am wearing in the first picture. I’m all about making the most of the piece that you already have in the closet.

I’m wearing another pair of William Rast skinny jeans and holding a denim jacket I found on clearance at The Gap last summer.

The only problem with this shirt is that the skinny straps do not want to stay up! Maybe I can use my DIY skills to sew them a little shorter so that they stay up. What do you think? Would you give that a try?

Have you tried the off the shoulder look? Which look is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

Simple Bracelet Organization D.I.Y.

I have been working on reorganizing my accessories to make it easier for me to find the pieces that I want to wear. For years I kept my bangles and bracelets in a plastic container, which isn’t so convenient when the piece you want to wear is stuck at the bottom and you need to dump out the entire container just to get to the one you want. I an idea similar to this on Pinterest and I just had to try it.

Here is what you need for this D.I.Y:

  • Wire hangers
  • Paper towel rolls
  • Duct Tape
  • Damage free hooks (I used ones by Command that hold up to 3lbs)

The first thing I did was take some duct tape and wrap it around the paper towel rolls. Not only does this make the bracelet holder look cute, but helps make the holder a bit more sturdy.

Stick the hanger through the paper towel roll and tadaa! You have a brand new bracelet holder, that will display all of your pretty pieces. All that is left to do is to hang them on your closet door or wall with some your damage free hooks. Just make sure that you allow at least a few hours before hanging your holder on the hooks so that you give it time to adhere to the wall.

This makes it easier for me to see what I own and to quickly find my bracelets. This is also great if you have minimal space in your room and need to utilize wall space.

There you have it! A fun and sturdy new way to organize your bracelets!

Primark – Cute Accessories for under $9!

Prmimark Finds
Primark is a retail store that originated in Ireland in 1969. Last year they opened their very first store in America in Boston, MA and this year they opened their first store in my state! All together that makes 5 stores in the United States: Willow Grove, PA, King of Prussia, PA, Danbury, CT, Boston, MA and Freehold, NJ. As soon as I found out about a store opening up relatively near me I took a trip to find out what they are all about.

If I had to compare Primark to any other store in the US I would compare it to H&M. Primmark carries clothing for women, men and children. Unlike H&M however, they have a housewares and shoe section. When I first walked into Primark I had an overwhelming feeling because there was so much to look at and discover!
I was shocked to find that the prices were super low! I’m talking shirts for under $10 and dress pants that range from $8 to $15. Now I’m not saying that everything is going to be high quality or as good a fit as some high end brands, but the $8 dress pants I bought aren’t too bad. Since I don’t wear black dress pants too often, I figured I had nothing to lose by trying out an inexpensive brand. They look good, fit good and make my wallet happy!

Here are some other finds that I picked up while shopping at Primark:
  • Grey Jersey Cap $3.98
  • Silver Snake Hoop Earrings $1.50
  • Marshmallow Small Jar Candle $1.00
  • Gold Pearl Front/Back Earrings $2.50
  • Set of 6 Rose Gold Bracelets $3.50
  • Silver and Rose Gold Ring Necklace $6.00
  • Black Wide Leg Dress Pants $8.00 (Not Pictured)
Since I didn’t have enough time to try on clothes I stuck with just getting a few accessories. My favorite purchases are the hat and the pearl earrings. I have been really into hats lately especially since I have been skipping extra days in between washing to preserve the funky colors in my hair. I plan on going back soon to pick out a few cute outfits so I can test out the quality. When that happens I will be sure to share it with you! Have you been to a Primark store? If so what do you think? Comment below.

How to Prevent Chafing for if You Don’t Have a Thigh Gap

prevent chafing
My two favorite ways to prevent chafing

Hello, lovey dazzlers! I am not here to talk about the controversy that is the thigh gap trend. Although, hopefully, that silly trend isn’t even a thing anymore. No shade to people who do have a thigh gap. Whether you have one or not is all genetics and based on how your body is built. It doesn’t have anything to do with the size of your body! This post can explain it better than I can. The point is, love your body, thigh gap or no thigh gap!

Now that I have gotten that out of the way, this post is for those of us who do not have a thigh gap. If your inner thighs rub together when you are wearing your favorite dress then you feel my pain. Chafing can be a huge problem! Especially when it’s very hot and you are more likely to sweat.

Sure you could wear cropped pants all summer but some days it’s just too hot. Besides, sometimes you just want to show off that cute little sundress that’s been sitting in your closet all winter.

bandelette silicone
Lacy Bandelettes in Nude with Non-slip Silicone

Here are two solutions that have been working wonders for me this summer!

  1. Bandelettes – These are basically strips of lace that you place around your upper thigh in order to prevent chafing. Because they are stretchy, Bandelettes feel comfortable and move with you throughout the day. They also have non-slip silicone on the inside which prevents them from slipping around. I purchased the nude lace ones last summer and I still love wearing them. They also have solid bandelettes which are suitable for men and for wearing under your workout clothes.Body Glide
  2. Body Glide- This is great for when you don’t feel like putting on an extra piece of clothing or you don’t want to risk showing your Bandelettes. Body Glide is a balm that you smooth onto and areas of skin where you experience chafing. It goes on smooth without any sticky or greasy feeling. They have several formulations to suit your needs. I purchased the for her moisturizing balm that comes in the pink container.

These two products have solved the problem of my thighs chafing bit time! I love them and I no longer have to worry about feeling uncomfortable when wearing dresses. What have you tried to solve your chafing problems? I would love to know, comment below.

** I am not affiliated or sponsored by either company. I just wanted to let you in on a few tips that have helped me and I hope they help you too!
